On the other hand, Bai Tu Long & Lan Ha Bay are believed  to be two bays which are increasingly recognized becauses of its beauty & tranquilty. Travelers who prefer more privacy & less touristy areas tend to choose the overnight boat with the cruising loop in these areas over Ha Long Bay recently.

 

 1.2 When is the best time to visit Bai Tu Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay?

Please bear in mind that certain activities like swimming or diving may not be permitted if the weather becomes too cold.
Ha Long Bay in Spring ( March, April, May)
Travelling to Ha Long Bay in Spring is quite pleasant in terms of weather condition with temperature approximately around 24°C. II/ TRANSPORTATION

 2.1 How to get to Bai Tu Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay?

Any of your requests regarding the transfers from Hanoi to HaLong Bay or from other airports to our cruises can easily be assisted by our operator team. The options are diverse from the private transfer ( 4 seats, 7 seats, 16 seats, limousine…) to the join-in transfer ( minivan 16 seats and limousine Dcar 9 seats available for 7 exclusive guests).
The approximate time of travelling from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay is 2.5 hours. The pick up time from the Old Quarter ( Hanoi) or nearby is 08:45 AM – 09:10 AM.
You’ll expect to come back Hanoi the following day around 14:30 – 14:45.

 2.3 What is distance and travel time to Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay?

The chart below shows distance and time from Hanoi city center or Noi Bai International airport or Cat Bi International Airport to the bay.

Hanoi city center - Tuan Chau Marina port (Lan Ha Bay): 146 km, 2h 30 mins

Hanoi city center - Halong International Port ( Bai Tu Long Bay) : 1148 Km, 2h 40 mins

Noi Bai International Airport - Tuan Chau Marina port (Halong Bay): 148 km, 3h.

 2.4 What is boarding and disembarkation time?

It's better to arrive at the port 15 to 30 minutes before the scheduled boarding time to ensure you are on time and to avoid any traffic issues. For La Regina Legend and La Regina Grand Cruise in Lan Ha Bay, please be ready at our waiting lounge before boarding time 12:00 – 12:15 AM.  2.5 What happens if I arrive late at the port for the cruise? Or if I want to disembark earlier than schedule?

Cruises aren’t like hotels; we require exact timing for boarding or disembarkation so that we can provide all scheduled programs, itineraries and activities. So please inform us if you will be late or want to early disembarkation. We will have the cruise's tender or a speed boat to send you from port to the cruise or vice versa, and we will charge the additional fee for this.

 

 2.6 What is the cost of a private car?

The cost for private car depends on the distance that you go from. So please update the exact location to pick you & your request to be dropped off for exact quote proposal.

 

 2.7 Do you provide pickup from Halong city?

Actually we will pick the customers up from the Old Quarter in Hanoi only. If you are in Halong Bay, we will send a private car to pick up, the fee will be paid at receptionist. The join-in transfers are currently available with the route from Hanoi to Halong Bay and vice versa only. From the Ha Long city to our ports, we can arrange the private transport for your own convenience and time flexibility with surcharges.   2.8 What is the cost of the Shuttle Bus from Hanoi to Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay?  

Please inbox us to have the best rate. For the customer's best conveniences, we always advise you to book the transport with us once you make the cruise reservation. Regarding the customers made reservation with La Regina Grand & La Regina Legend Cruise, currently, we offer the limousine Dcar 9 seats with exclusive 7 guests only with the price as : US$ 35 per person for the round trip Hanoi - Ha Long - Hanoi and US$ 20 per person for one way. Concerning the guests made booking with La Regina Royal Cruise, minivans 16 seats are available with the cost of US$ 25 per person for round trip Hanoi - Ha Long - Hanoi and US$ 15 per person for one way.,

 

 2.9 Do the transportation vehicles have child seats and restraints?

All transportation vehicles (cars, minivans and coaches) have seatbelts but child seats and restraints are not available

 

 2.10 What time will we be back to Hanoi from Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay?

The shuttle bus or Dcar Limousine will ordinarily pick you up at the cruise lounge around noon and drop you off in Hanoi from 14:30 - 15:00. Also, it depends on the day's traffic situation. If you expect an early flight from Hanoi( NoiBai International or Domestic Airport), please inform us when you check in upon made reservation, so that we can advise you the best time frame & arrange the transport to convenietly drop you first.

 

 2.11 Where can i get picked up from for the trip from Hanoi to Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay?

Our shuttle bus and Limousine, we offer two transport types: minivan 16 seats ( applied for customers booked with La Regina Royal ) & limousine Dcar 9 seats ( applied for customer booked with La Regina Grand & La Regina Legend ) will pick up passengers from their accommodation in Hanoi’s Old Quarter or nearby and takes them to the ports and vice versa. If your hotel is not in Old Quater area, please get a taxi to our office (Address: GP Bank Building - No 40 - Hai Ba Trung Street - Hn). The pickup time is from 08:45 - 09:00 A.M Besides, the pick up out of the Old Quarter is available with additional surcharge. The pick up time is expected to be earlier as compared to the Old Quarter's area. Please contact us for further information.

 

 2.12 Can I go direct from Noi Bai Airport to Halong Bay for boarding?

Certainly, you can go direct from Noi Bai Airport to Halong Bay for boarding or vice versa by a private car. From Noi Bai International Airport to Tuan Chau Marine port is 141km, to Halong International Cruises Port is around 146km For the best price & time frame arrangement, please contact us for further information

 

 

 2.13 My flight is in the afternoon of the day I finish my Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay cruise. How can I get to the airport to catch my flight?

There is the possibility when you can arrange the flight to other cities at the same day when you finish the cruise. Before making the flight's reservation, please make sure you've check throughly the distance from our ports to the airport's location and the estimated travel time, disembark time. Regarding the domestic flight, you should expect to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight's departure, whereas, the international flights require at least 3 hours in advance at the airport. The most popular airports available to take the flights after the cruise includes: Noi Bai International Airport ( Hanoi), Cat Bi Airport ( Hai Phong), Van Don Airport ( Quang Ninh).

 

 2.14 Should I tip my tour guide or driver?

It's not compulsory however if you're happy with the services on board, the gratuity is appreciated for the team's efforts performance.

 

 2.15 How to get to Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay by local bus?

You will have no many choice for the local bus which is suitable for the foreign. However, we suggest you to book our shuttle bus or Limousine to be safe and ontime with no much price difference. Local bus is available with diverse price depending on the quality & brand name. The services are mainly used for domestic customers so language barrier is another attribute that you should take into account. Besides, upon making the reservation, please check carefully the route whether the local bus use the freeway or normal way ( the freeway normally costs you higher because of the tolls yet consequently will make the trip much shorter) and the drop off port information.

 

III LUGGAGE

 3.1 What do we need to bring to Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay?

It's advised to carry insect repellent, hand sanitizer, aspirin/paracetamol, medicines for stomach troubles. Futhermore remember to bring your passport, swimming suit, sun glasses, cash or credit card, and any other items you can't live without!

 

 3.2 How much luggage can I bring onboard the cruise?

While our cruises are proud of the room's size space as compared to other fleets, within the short time frame & the limited compartment in the transfer, we suggest you light pack only. We suggest to take only the essential belongings for the one night/ two nights trip. The rest of the luggage could be stored at your hotel. If you don't plan to come back to Hanoi and bring several suitcases, please advise us in advance for further arrangement.

 

 3.3 Do I need luggage tags?

Your belongings are well taken care with us. Thus, the luggage tag is vital & will be used when check you in. Your information will be noted in the luggage tag with one part kept by you. The other part attached along with the luggages and our porters will arrange the transfer smoothly. For the fragile items, please advise us in advance for special care.

 

 3.4 What types of clothing should I bring?

There are no requirement for the dress code on board. You're free to choose the clothes basing on your personal needs. However, as the itineary offers lots of outdoor activities such as : kayaking, swimming, cave visit.... we suggest you to bring extra clothes in case you get wet, a set of pyjama for the evening sleep & swimming suits if you want to join the activity. It depends on personal demain as well as the weather. To enjoy all the activities most, you should bring the clothes which are comfortable and suitable for water activities. From November to March, the climate is quite chilly, so please prepare warm clothes.

 

 3.5 Do I need to bring a tuxedo or dining gown?

It is unnecessary to bring formal dinning dress except some special occasion is Christmast, New Year or Vietnamese Lunar New Year.

 

 3.6 Do I need to pack a hairdryer or iron?

We have hairdresser in every cabin so you can find it as easy as pie. For the iron, please ask the staff or housekeeping.

 

 3.7 Do I need an adapter?

Our cruises have standard sockets accommodate flat two-prong plugs or Type A, Type B and Type C for your electric devices. Prepare your own adapter if those socket types are not suitable with your devices.

 

 3.8 Are there porters to help me with my luggage at the cruise port?

The staff will handle your luggage from port to your cabin and return. Please take care of your handbags and keep the luggage tags as well.

 

 3.9 When will my luggage arrive in my cabin?

After your lunch, you will get your luggage in your cabin in cruise.

 

 3.10 Will I need special clothing on my off board excursion?

It is unnecessary to bring formal dinning dress except some special occasion is Christmast, New Year or Vietnamese Lunar New Year.

 4.1 Do i need a passport and travel visa to visit Halong Bay?

The passport information including : your full name, nationality, passport number, date of birth is requested to be provided upon your cruising dates at least 1 day before for the overnight cruise registration. You can either contact your travel agents to update the information or send us via our email: info@lareginacruises.com.

 

 4.2 How do I send required passport information for cruise registration?

 4.3 When will I receive my cruise voucher?

The travel voucher is issued either direct by our cruises ( applied for reservation made directly with us) or other supplier channels including: online travel agents, travel operators, DMC....

 

 4.4 What is Travel Protection Insurance? Do I need it?

Travel insurance is included in the entrance fees but does not cover for the trip cancellation, lost luggage incidents or other losses incurred while travelling. We therefore, advise you to buy the travel insurance intended to cover the medical expenses, trip cancellation, lost luggage before arriving Vietnam.

 5.5 What are facilities for disabilities, Limited mobility and handicapped boarding and getting around with La Regina Cruises?

The port and something in cruises are not really designed or equipped properly for disability access, but dock walkways and bridges make easier for disability to board an overnight Lan Ha or Bai Tu Long Bay cruise when the cruise docks properly at port in a calm weather day. Our crew is a big help for your access to the cruise. However, while the crew would like to assist a passenger with disability, embarkation and disembarkation is difficult to carry a passenger sitting in wheelchair up and down!  5.6 What's the minimum age to take a cruise? Can I bring an infant?

There’s no minimum age limit for children for Halong Bay cruise booking even infants. However, children under 10 years old is requested to be escorted along with adults for their own safety.

 

 5.7 Are pregnant women allowed to cruise?

All our cruises are safe for pregnant women, our crew are ready to help and the speed boat is available to take you you back land in emergency. Pregnant women are allowed if pregnant for 24 weeks or less at time of cruise embarkation. We need your physician's letter declare that you and your baby are in good health.

 6.1 Can we celebrate a birthday or special occasion?

Celebrate your birthday or special occasion on board is a good idea to make your journey be fulled of the unforgettable memory. Please inform us your date that you want at least 3 days before check in. The medical or dietary requests should be updated to our operation team at least 3 days before cruising dates for the further arrangement.  6.3 Are there medical services and facilities available on the ship?

Actually we do not have a doctor on board, but all our crews are trained for SOLAS( Safety of Life at Sea), First Aid skills and dealing with emergencies. In case of emergency, the cruise’s tender (a small speed boat that always goes along with the cruise ship) will take from 30 minutes to maximum 1 hour (depending on cruise location at the time of emergency transfer required) to transfer guests to shore.

 

 6.4 Do cruises have wheelchairs on board?

La Regina Cruises do not have wheelchairs on board. If you have a disability, then it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the experience of cruising. The room rates do include all tax and service charges except the card processing fee. For the balance payment, guests can pay in cash or there's processing fee of 3.3% for Visa/Master, 3.85% for Amex credit card.

The room rate is per room. When you choose a specific cruise with cruise name, cruise length, date of cruise, number of cabin, number of people, then the rates will show the cabin rate, based on the data you provided us.

 7.10 How far in advance can I book a cruise?

You can book the cruise 12 months in advance. Many travelers spend more time in order to research early and know exactly when they want to cruise and the name of cruise line they want to take; some even book the cruise from 6 months to 12 months in advance and get the great added value of early bird booking offers from cruises and get the exact cruise cabin they want for the exact chosen date. Of course, you can cancel or amend your booking details if needed, just carefully read the booking cancellation/amendment terms and conditions to make sure you know when to cancel or amend booking without being charged for it.

 

 7.11 Can I book a cruise online for someone else?

Yes, definitely you can book La Regina Cruises for someone else. You may pay and provide passengers' passport information for overnight registration on behalf of people you make the booking for.

 

 7.12 How many people fit in a cabin?

Normally all the double cabins can occupy 2 adults and 1 child from 5 to 11 years old or an infant. However, a triple cabin is enough space for 3 adults and 1 chil from 5 to 11 years old or an infant. Especially, a family connecting cabin can serve maximum 4 adults and 2 child from 5 to 11 years old. Normally, all the double cabins can occupy 2 adults and either 1 child under 5 years old sharing the bed with adults (complimentary) or 1 child from 6-11 years old (using the extra bed with surcharge). For the wide range of preferences, we offer triple cabins ( can accommodate up to 4 adults and 1 children under 5 years old) or family connecting rooms ( can accommodate up to 6 people).  7.13 Can I book connecting cabins online?

We do offer the connecting rooms with limited availability. Therefore, once you make the reservation, please mention your special request and we'll update you accordingly.

 

 7.14 Can I book more than one cabin at a time?

You can check the cabin availability on your chosen date and book right at that time. If your number cabins requested haven't been shown on website, we advise you to contact us for more detail and support.

For the direct reservation with us on our official website, the credit card information is required to secure your booking. Yet, all the payment will be settled either by cash or card upon your arrival. If you make reservation with the non refundable rates, you are only required to deposit 30% of the total cruise price at the time of booking. The remaining 70% will be paid when you check in our waiting lounge. In case you would like to pay by credit card, please contact us to send you the online invoice.  9.1 Is there any credit card processing fee?

There's processing fee of 3% for Visa/Master, Amex credit card.

 

 9.2 Is your credit card payment secured?

We are using the representative of the MasterCard Internet Gateway Service (MiGS) in Vietnam that meets PCI Data Security Standard. All card details are processed in a secure environment. Your card information will be protected during the transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer technology, which encrypts the information that you provide online.

 

 9.3 Is it possible to use more than one credit card for payment?

Absolutely that you can use more than one credit card for payment. However, each transaction is charged the processing bank fee of 3%. Also, your credit card information needs to match with your passport name or your companion in order to authorize using it.

 

 9.4 My credit card payment wasn't accepted. Why?

There is serveral reason that your payment by credit card does not complete. The bank that issued your credit card declined your payment. One of the possible reasons is that you had insufficient funds (for a debit card), or that the Bank flagged the payment as possibly suspicious. Please use other credit card or contact your bank

D. CANCELLATION AND REFUND

 10.1 What are the cancellation fees?

The cancellation policy and fees differ for the season each year and also depend on your rates plan selection. Please review carefully your terms & conditions along with the rates plan before you make reservation. 

 

 10.2 What is the cancellation policy due to bad weather?

All cruises in Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long Bay must have permission from the Management Board of Bay to stay overnight in the bay. Permission is granted or denied based on current and forecasted extreme weather conditions (high winds, monsoon, thunderstorm, cyclone, storm, etc.). In the event of bad weather, the cruises are not permited to embark to guarantee the safety of tourists. In the case where a planned and paid for cruise is cancelled the following policies will be applied: If the cancellation of permission by the board is decided before you leave from Hanoi to Halong Bay (you have not used any service yet): 100% refund. If the cancellation is decided during the trip (you have already used some services: transfer, lunch, day trip, hotel in Halong, etc.): Only the fee of these services will be charged and we will refund the remaining amount. If the trip is cut down from 3 days/2 nights to 2 days/1 night, we will charge as a 2 day/1 night trip, plus any additional services you have already used. We will then refund the remaining amount.

The price is included 2 lunchs, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast on board. The tour package price includes all meals on board : breakfast, lunch, dinner.

The beverages are not inclusive. The detailed drink price list can be provided to you in advance upon your request.

 

 11.3 Do you offer drinks on Halong cruise?

 

We offer complimentary welcome drinks upon your arrival at the cruise ,one complimentary glass of mineral water during your meals , two complimentary bottle of water in your room daily and bottled waters during your excursion activities. Besides that, you are welcome to enjoy a wide range of wine list, cocktails or soft drinks from our beverages lists.

There’s a large selection of drinks on board La Regina Cruises, from bottled water, canned juice, local distilled liquor to expensive imported champagne. La Regina Cruise dining and cuisine experiences on board are changing and improving, with innovative cooking styles and menus, combining fresh, local ingredients with imported food, traditional cuisine with Western style, making innovative fusion food. We provide great Vietnamese fresh food, seafood, and vegetables, while imported beef, lamps, cheese, salmon, butter…from worldwide well-known brands also are present in cruise kitchens.  11.6 Can I bring my own wine onboard? Does La Regina cruise charge corkage fee?

You can bring your own wine to the cruise, however, we will charge a corkage fee depending on your wine bottle's market average cost.

Please inform us about your request and your diet in details 3 days before check in, we will arrange the appropriate meal for you.

 

 11.8 How do I book for private dining for our special occasion?

 11.9 Does the ship serve breakfast the last day of the cruise?

We have the breakfast for the last day and aslo a brunch fo the customers before disembarking and back to Tuan Chau Marina or Halong International Port.

 12.1 Is smoking allowed on Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long Bay cruise?

All our cabin in cruise and indoor areas are non- smoking, so as to not bother other customers please smoke in outdoor areas. You may not know Smoke often drifts back when the cruise is moving forward, and smoke drifts to other passengers’ personal space or the non-smoking area in the same deck or other balcony users. Fire is the most dangerous hazard on any ship, no matter how shallow the water or how few passengers it carries. If you do smoke, be considerate and be sure that the ashes are totally cool before you leave the area. Cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard.

 

 12.2 Do you offer spa services on Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long Bay cruise?

Wi-Fi is available in our cruises but the connection maybe not stable due to the geography of Bai Tu Long bay as well as Lan Ha Bay during the itinerary. Wifi works well at our port reception and onboard reception. Please make your phone calls or browse the internet during your time at the port, both pre and post cruising. Onboard WIFI and mobile connections in HALONG BAY. We understand that staying in touch with family, relatives, friends & work when travelling is extremely vital.Yet, when cruising in HALONG BAY, you might experience the signal to be weakened, not stable or even in the worst scenario not available. The further our cruises sail away from the port,the weaker transmission it will be due to the obstruction of the thousand karsts & limestone towers. Furthermore, as our commitment moto from our group: leading you with the longest cruising loop covering the most remote, tranquil areas, the transmission has not yet developed there yet. So, you might find it slightly incovenient but we believe you deserve the short time frame without electric devices & spending the precious time for your loved ones.

Each cabin in our three cruises has a safe that you can change the passwort and keep your important things there.

Of course you can pay every thing by your credit card, however, you should bring the amount of cash in case your credit card has trouble or the connection is not good enough to use our POS machine during the itinerary.

 

 12.10 What are entertainments on board La Regina Cruises?

As you can see our itinerary, we have many activities as well as entertaiment on La Regina Cruises. For Viet Hai Cultural Farming Conservation, we will bring a unique opportunity for its guests to experience the local farming and fishing culture. You can join hands with host family to do farming works: hoeing the soil, planting and watering vegetables, water scooping, fishing...then preparing fresh-cut vegetables from the garden and fish that you just catch for cooking class between the lush garden. Besides, cycling is one of the most favorite activities in the overnight programs of Lan Ha Bay, in which guests can totally be in touch with nature. Viet Hai Village, an isolated village nested by Cat Ba National Park. Along the village road, you can feel the peace of a hidden world with a crystal-water lake bordered by a sophisticatedly – carved stone fence on the left hand, and a lush limestone mountain range on the other side. Stop for a while for the photo – shooting and you will have numerous amazing pictures. Passing a dark mountain tunnel, you are led to the paths inside the Cat Ba National Park.  13.1 What is different bewteen 2 day 1 night cruise package and 3 day 2 night package?

The most booked trip is the 2 day 1 night cruise, while the 3 day 2 night itinerary is a true discovery, well-chosen by more active travelers, who are interested in water activities (kayaking, swimming, biking, hiking) and relaxing on board to escape the normal beaten tracks. The 2 day 1 night cruise will give you a great overview of the bay’s beauty and a good taste of local food. Also, you can join in enjoyable activities both aboard and off-board: a quick visit to a beach or hiking to a viewpoint for the bay’s panoramic beauty, choices of short kayaking or bamboo boat row, sunset cocktails, BBQ dinner, and morning Tai Chi exercises. 3 day 2 night cruise, on the second day, you will be transferred to a “day boat” for further exploration of more remote areas of the bay. Beside kayaking and swimming, you will have a chance to bike to Viet Hai village and take a little trek to a small cave nearby. The ride is quite beautiful along the waterfront then through lush green jungle to the village. For those who don’t like biking, there are options of taking an electric car or a motorbike to the village.

 13.6 Can I leave my children on the ship while we take a tour?

If you children have some problem about health or any thing else, our staff will look after them while your off board excursion. However, you had better bring your kids with you.
